Abstract

1320417 Amino hexose reductones EASTMAN KODAK CO 1 Oct 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 46813/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division G2] Anhydro dihydro amino hexose reduotones of the formula wherein R 1 (R 2 )N- represents piperidino, dimethylamino, 4-methylpiperidino, pyrrolidino or morpholino, are made by reacting together anhydrous D-glucose and, respectively, piperidine, dimethylamine, 4-methylpiperidine, pyrrolidine or morpholine in aqueous ethanol solution and then adding glacial acetic acid to obtain the corresponding amino hexose reductone. The latter is dehydrated by addition to anhydrous HCl in butanol and the anhydro amino hexose reductone is reduced to the dihydro derivative by hydrogen and Raney nickel.
