1319118 Tracks for ground effect machines SOC DE L' "AEROTRAIN" 9 Nov 1970 [15 Nov 1969] 53270/70 Heading B7L In a track, for ground effect machines, in which a central guidance rib defined by walls 2c, 2d co-operates with a longitudinal central slot 4 on the machine 1, the "lifting" effect caused by leaks from the guidance cushions 3c, 3d is obviated by providing a vent 20 through the central rib which communicates with a space 5 under the track, thus opening the slot 4 to the atmosphere. The central rib, of which the walls 2c, 2d are metal, is strengthened by the provision of diaphragms 6 having holes 7, and being linked together by struts 8 riveted to the walls. Orifices 13 are provided at the base of the walls 2c 2d to prevent excess pressure building up, at the junctions of the central rib and the machine-supporting parts of the track 2a 2b, caused by leaks from both the cushions and the support cushions 3a, 3b.
