1,213,712. Air cushion vehicles. SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE DEVELOPPEMENT DES AEROGLISSEURS MARINS. 8 March, 1968 [10 March, 1967], No. 11518/68. Heading B7K. An air cushion vehicle 1 is supported on a plenum chamber air cushion enclosed by an outer convoluted single wall skirt 10, the cushion space being subdivided into two or more inner cushions 2, 3 enclosed by inner fruato-conical single wall skirts 4, 5. Air is supplied by a ducted fan 13 which discharges through openings 25, 26, 27 in the upper wall of the cushion spaces directly into the inner cushion spaces 2, 3 and the outer cushion space respectively. A further embodiment is described in which two pairs of inner cushions, each pair associated with a fan, are positioned on opposite sides of the central median plane of a vehicle.
