Abstract
1319047 Demagnetizing HONEYWELL Inc 28 May 1970 [29 May 1969 25 Sept 1969] 19746/72 Divided out of 1306981 Heading H1P [Also in Divisions B6 and G1] In a machine for producing a magnetic image on a material the material is treated to a preimaging step by subjection to a demagnetizing field which erases any possible image remaining from a past imaging process. In the described embodiment a moving web is demagnetized by a field rotating in the plane of the web such a field being produced by an A.C. energized coil 4 encircling the web and a permanent magnet field emanating from magnets 1.
