Abstract
1318999 4-Ureidohexahydropyrimidin-2-one DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 23 July 1970 [6 Aug 1969] 35756/70 Heading C2C 4 - Ureidohexahydropyrimidin - 2 - one is prepared by condensing urea with acrolein in aqueous acid solution, at a pH of 0-4 and a temperature of 40-100‹ C. there being used at least 4 mols of urea per mol of acrolein. Preferably the mother liquor from the reaction is recycled as reaction medium it being purified by subjecting it either continuously or at intervals to treatment with an organic solvent, e.g. methanol.
