Abstract

1318445 Switchgear arrangements SIEMENSAG 26 Aug 1970 [27 Aug 1969] 41157/70 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] A switchgear arrangement for controlling motors in a mining installation is withdrawably mounted in a flame-proof housing and comprises a rectangular panel supporting a fixed array of interconnected parts including current transformer, bus bars, terminals and plug and socket connections by which a contactor can be releasably and electrically connected to the arrangement. The terminals 13 at the top and bottom of the panel 1 are interconnected via bus bars 15, 16, 17 to the incoming supply whilst middle terminals 13 are connected via respective current transformers 20, 23 which are for overload protection and transformers 21, 24, to the outgoing conductors 80 which are connected to respective motors. Contactors 10, 11 mounted on the opposite side of the panel are connected between two respective terminals 13 by means of plug and socket connections 4, 5, 6, and 7 and socket boards 40, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown). The contactors are provided with slidable guide members 42 which engage the guide rails 60, whilst rail 73, mounted within the flame-proof housing engages recess 71 of the panel's bottom edge. The bus-bar 15 is twisted to provide phase sequence reversal such that the interconnection of plugs 5 and 6, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), provides for the reversing of the drive of the motor.
