Abstract

1318385 Leaf spring shackles KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 10 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 43359/70 Heading F2S The eye 10 of a leaf spring in a vehicle suspension is supported on a pin 11 whose ends are inserted in eyes 14 in a shackle 8 which is, in turn, supported, by eye 7, on a pin 4 whose ends are inserted in eyes 3 in a bracket 1 which is secured to the vehicle frame 2. The ends of the pins are required to be rotatably fast in bushes 5, 12 in the eyes 3 and 14, and located axially by end members 9, 15. The bushes 5, 12 are supported in needle bearings 13, and may be a press-fit on the pins, or have a splined connection (Fig. 3, not shown).
