Abstract

Nov. 23, 1918 Reflectors. - A miner's safety lamp is fitted externally with a vertically slidable plate 2 adapted to be moved in one direction to close in the light on one side of the lamp and in the opposite direction to leave the light unobstructed. This plate moves in guides 3 fixed to the bonnet 1, is provided with a handle portion 4 and is preferably burnished or nickel plated to cause it to act as a reflector. When fitted to an electric safety lamp the plate 2 is made slidable upon the battery portion of the lamp.
