1317937 Perisobutyric acid ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KK and AGENCY OF INDUSTRIAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY ELECTOR GENERAL 29 July 1970 [31 July 1969] 36721/70 Heading C2C Perisobutyric acid is produced by oxidizing isobutyraldehyde in an inert solvent, such as a hydrocarbon, a ketone or a fatty acid ester, in the absence of a catalyst, at an oxygen pressure of oxygen or an inert gas to which oxygen has been added from 2 to 50 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> and at a temperature of from 10‹ to 80‹ C. and recovering the product. The reaction is preferably carried out in a SUS 32 stainless steel vessel.
