Abstract
1316887 Air heating stoves; air conditioning CONSTANT AIR SYSTEMS Ltd 28 March 1972 [9 Feb 1971] 4261/71 Headings F4K and F4V Space heating apparatus in which a heated air-combustion gas mixture from a direct gasfired air heater 16 is supplied through ducting 12 to a plurality of Venturi diffusers 10 wherein the heated air-combustion gas mixture is mixed with air drawn into the Venturi from the space to be heated and then discharged into the space. Each Venturi diffuser 10 has one or more high velocity inlet nozzles (20, Figs. 2a-2e) and one or more outlets (22), the diffusers being located at a high level in the space. A centrifugal fan 18 draws in air to be heated from outside the space through filters 19, said air then being passed over the burner flame in the heater 16. The gas burner 36 comprises an array of apertured fuel pipes 37 and mixing plates 38 and 40 which are attached to the walls of the pipes and include a plurality of apertures of various sizes through which flows the air to be heated. Water vapour does not condense in the heater but is carried with the heated air into the space to be heated. An exhaust fan (26, Fig. 3) is provided to remove air from the space at a rate corresponding to that at which air is supplied to the space by the centrifugal fan 18. Control circuitry is provided to ensure that the heater remains inoperative until the fans 18 and (26) are working, the temperature of the space being controlled by means of thermostats (30, 32, and 34, Fig. 3).
