Abstract

1316346 Photoconductive sheet MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO Ltd 19 Oct 1970 [20 Oct 1969] 49588/70 Heading H1K A photoconductive sheet comprises a base having a photoconductive coating thereon comprising photoconduotive titanium dioxide, a binder having an acid number of less than 70 and at least one organic acid or salt thereof having at least 6 carbon atoms and being present in an amount 0À1 to 15 x 10<SP>-6</SP> equivalents per square meter of photoconductor surface. In the specific embodiments a polyethylene terephthalate sheet is vapour coated with aluminium and then coated with a mixture of TiO 2 , chlorinated polyethylene and benzoic, stearic, oleic, dehydrobietic, tetrahydroabietic, 2-naphthene sulphonic or 1 nitro-anthraquinone carboxylic acid, zinc benzoate or tetrahydrorosinate, sodium stearate, potassium oleate, calcium abietate or cadmium, aluminium, magnesium or zinc rosinate. Many other binders and bases are specified. The organic acid or salt thereof acts as a decay retarder.
