Abstract

1316134 Beam axle suspensions M J MOGFORD and A K MOGFORD 6 May 1971 [12 March 1970] 11850/71 Heading B7D [Also in Division F2] A beam axle suspension comprises an elongate box 10, 16, a row of helical springs 12 in the box, and an elongate member 6 supported on the springs and free to move within the box. The base 10 of the box is attached to the axle 1 and by links 18, 19 to the chassis 3. The member 6 bears adjustably against lugs 5 on the chassis. The springs 12 are located by projections 15. Auxiliary springs coaxial with those in the row may be provided. The springs at the end of the row may be longer than the others (Fig. 3, not shown).
