Abstract
1,104,062. Resilient mountings. CONTINENTAL GUMMI - WERKE A.G. 12 July, 1965 [22 July, 1964], No. 29525/65. Heading F2S. [Also in Division B7] A resilient mounting for the forked end of a vehicle torque tube 1 comprises two pairs of rubber/metal elements 5 arranged on a pair of coaxial pins 3 attached to the outsides of the limbs of the forked end 2 of, and at right-angles to, the torque tube 1, the elements being arranged to form an approximate diamond in a horizontal plane. The rubber/metal elements are preferably prestressed in the direction of the pin axis. Two of the rubber elements have flat surfaces and two have arcuate surfaces adhered to correspondingly shaped surfaces of inner mounts 6 and are preferably so shaped in vertical cross-section that the axis of the pins 3 is above the median plane of the mounts in the unladen position. Buffers 7 (Fig. 2, not shown) are provided above and below the mounts 6 which abut mounts 4 under load.
