Abstract

1315070 Planetary coolers for rotary kilns F L SMIDTH & CO AS 20 Sept 1971 43765/71 Heading F4B In a rotary kiln provided with planetary cooler tubes 6 connected to the kiln by shoots 5, the inlet end of each cooler tube comprises part conical surfaces 7, 8, and 9 having a common apex substantially on the tube axis, surfaces 8 and 9 being concave to the tube interior and surface 7 which continues the shoot 5 being convex to the tube interior. Plane closure plates 10 and 11 complete the end of each cooler tube. The shoot 5 is substantially tangential to surface 7 and may be thermally insulated.
