Abstract

1337350 Planetary coolers POLYSIUS AG 15 Dec 1971 [25 Feb 1971] 58190/71 Heading F4B A rotary kiln for cement clinker is provided at its outlet with a precooler 2 having a maximum diameter greater than the diameter of the kiln and with planetary cooling tubes 4, the tubes 4 being connected to an end face 3 of the precooler remote from the kiln outlet and a cylindrical part 7 of the precooler having a grooved lining 9. The grooves in the lining 9 may be straight or helical and each is directed towards an outlet aperture 11 which serves a corresponding tube 4. The end wall 3 may be straight. The tubes 4 are supported upon a tube 14 through which a burner 15 may pass to the kiln.
