Abstract

1314888 Fluid regulation BEKAERT S A NV 1 July 1970 [1 July 1969] 31988/70 Heading G3H [Also in Division G4] A fluidic element comprises an apertured thin plate of foil sandwiched between two plates. The plates have grooves machined, etched, or stamped in the faces adjacent the foil, the grooves and apertures together forming flow paths which define the action of the element. The foil may comprise several layers, Fig. 5 (not shown), to provide a more rigid foil. A fluid diode, Fig. 1a, comprises apertured foil 3 and grooved plates 1, 2. Fluid flowing into groove 6 exists via groove 4, but fluid flowing in at groove 4 can not exit via groove 6. A rectangular array of diodes may be used as a punched card reader, the card acting as the foil, Fig. 4 (not shown). An amplifier, Fig.3, has a foil 26 apertured at 27. Power fluid divides between output grooves 30, 31 in proportion to control signals at 60, 61.
