Abstract

1314405 Marking ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 3 Sept 1970 42217/70 Heading B3Q A hollow-spindle machine-tool comprises a marking device in the spindle. As applied to a machine, in which the work 6 is held between a tailstock and a hollow spindle 1 and driven frictionally by the conical surface 5 of a flange 3, a stamp 12 is struck by a hammer 43 during a machining operation. Balls 50 housed in a guide-sleeve 41 hold the hammer cooked against the force of springs 44, the sleeve being fixed to a stationary tube 20 in bearings 21 in the spindle. A piston 29 and its rod 25, which mounts a driving collar 54, are advanced until a bolt 46 on the rod enters a recess 14 in the stamp-carrier 11 and a recess 56 in a spring- pressed bush 40 advanced by the collar 54 permits outward movement of the balls 50, thus releasing the hammer for striking the carrier.
