1313843 Mixtures containing 2 - tert.- butyl-4-ethyl phenol WILLIAM PEARSON Ltd 7 July 1970 [8 April 1969] 17947/69 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] The invention comprises a mixture of 2-tert.- butyl-4-ethyl phenol with 4-ethyl phenol and/or 2,6-di-tert.-butyl-4-ethyl phenol, having a setting point below 20‹ C., 2-tert.-butyl.4-ethyl phenol being the major component. It is prepared by reacting 4-ethyl phenol with isobutylene and fractionating the required mixture from the reaction products. The mixture acts as an anti-oxidant for a variety of organic materials.
