1312540 Microwave ovens PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 17 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 58685/71 Heading H5H A microwave oven comprises a first structural unit 10, 13 containing the magnetron and most associated electrical components, replaceably assembled within panels 32<SP>1</SP>, 33<SP>1</SP> of a second structural unit, containing the oven cavity 24, such that a space 43 between the two units forms part of the feed waveguide and a quarter-wave choke 22 is provided in the region of the waveguide where the units join. The feed waveguide is completed by spaces 37, 38, 39, and energy from the magnetron antenna 16 is fed to the oven cavity 24 via slots 40 in its top and bottom walls 26, 25. The first unit 10, 13, is filled with oil or paraffin for cooling purposes.
