Abstract
131,246. White, A. E., (American Steam Conveyor Corporation). March 13, 1919. Pneumatic conveyers.-Relates to fittings for pneumatic or other fluid-pressure conveyers for changing the direction of flow of the conveyed material. A hollow member 5, which is formed with a pair of end openings 6, 7 and a pair of lateral discharge openings 8, 9, is provided with a, pair of complementary wear liners 10, 11 that can be withdrawn through the opening 6. The liners are retained in position by a cover-plate 12 which is protected by an impact plate 18. The flange 15 of the intake conduit 16 is bolted to a flange 14 on the member 5. The flow of material through the discharge conduits 20. 20<1> is controlled by sliding interchangeable gates 21, 21<1> the former of which has an aperture 22. The gates are tapered and are mounted in correspondingly shaped seats 24<1>, 25 secured to flanges 17, 17<1> on the member 5 by bolts 27. The holes for the bolts 27 are spaced equally so that the seats may be shifted about the axis of the conduits until they are in a.. position which permits the withdrawal of the gates. An opening 31 is formed in the liners 10, 11 in register with an inspection door in the member 5.
