Abstract

1312207 Slipping shaft coupling P C PEDDINGHAUS and W PEDDINGHAUS [trading as PAUL FERD PEDDINGHAUS] 19 April 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 20244/71 Heading F2U A slipping clutch comprises at least one disc 3 slidable axially along a shaft 4 between pressure plates 7, 8 urged against the discs by cupsprings 10 whose thrust is adjusted by a nut 11 having an extension 12 encircling the springs to form a gap Z between the extension and one of the plates 8, the size of the gap Z being measurable (e.g. by thickness gauges) and indicating the spring thrust. The disc 3 may be connected to a sprocket 1 by an encircling chain 2. The sprocket 1 and extension 12 may have apertures 1a, 12a.
