Abstract

1312136 Laminated glass THOMAS BENNETT Ltd 22 Oct 1971 [10 Sept 1970] 43310/70 Heading B5N A method of producing a laminated glass comprising two glass plates adhered together by means of a bonding layer of polyvinyl butyral, at least one of the glass plates being wired glass comprises sandwiching polyvinyl butyral between the glass plates, heating the assembly to soften the polyvinyl butyral and further heating the assembly in an autoclave to bond the glass plates together. In a preferred method, glass plates 18 and 20 cleaned by water sprays 12 and cleaning brushes 14 are assembled with an intermediate polyvinyl butyral layer 22, pressed by nip rollers 24 and heated by heaters 26, the assembly is then transferred to an autoclave and a plurality of assemblies heated under pressure.
