Abstract

1,254,485. Laminated products. NIPPON SHEET GLASS CO. Ltd. 2 April, 1969, No. 17406/69. Heading B5N. [Also in Division H5] An electrical heating assembly 5 comprises one or two flexible supports 1, 1<SP>1</SP> which may be polyethylene film and detachably mounted thereon, a transfer 6 including an array of heating wires 4 and one or two thin layers 3, 31 of a cement such as polyvinyl butyral. The wires may be of tungsten, Ni/Cr alloy or cupro-nickel and may be embedded in the surface of, or submerged. in, the cement layer(s). The transfer may be laminated between glass panels 7, 7<SP>1</SP> using at least one additional layer 8 of cement by delaminating one of the support films from the assembly 5, placing the remainder on one of the glass sheets optionally after applying a cement layer to the glass, removing the sole or remaining support film, applying a layer of cement to the transfer or to the second sheet of glass and bonding the layers together. In a modification (Fig. 7, not shown), after the transfer is placed on the first glass sheet, cement is placed over the transfer and over the glass sheet to form an interlayer, the second sheet then being bonded as before.
