Abstract

1311700 Dyeing polyester/cellulosic fibre mixtures FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 28 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 51202/70 Heading D1B Mixtures of polyester and cellulosic fibres are dyed by impregnating with an alkaline solution containing a substantive coupling component together with a wetting or dispersing agent, drying and treating with an acidic aqueous solution of a diazotised aromatic amine and a compound having an acidic reaction, drying and subjecting to a heat treatment preferably at 170‹-220‹C. Blends of 25% polyester and 75% cellulose to 70% polyester and 30% cellulose may be dyed, preferred disperse dyes are azo and anthraquinones, the acid impregnation is preferably at pH 4 to 7 organic acids, e.g. acetic and formic acids being used, wetting and dispersing agents include condensation products of formaldehyde and naphthalene sulphonic acids or of 1 molecular weight 200-300 fatty acids with aminoalkylsulphonic acids or protein degradation products.
