1311442 Tea leaf roller GRUZINSKY POLITEKHNICHESKY INSTITUT IMENI VI LENINA 5 Aug 1971 36813/71 Heading A2B A tea leave roller comprises a rolling unit which consists of a table with a container in the middle, a cylinder located above the container, the cylinder being loaded with tea in bulk and a drive for imparting planar orbital bodily motion to the table and the cylinder, the cylinder being provided with a tubular discharge installed concentrically inside the cylinder and moving jointly with the cylinder, the lower part of the discharger being in the form of a bell mouth directed towards the table, a circular gap being left between the walls of the cylinder and those of the bell mouth for feeding in the bulk tea to be rolled. This discharger may be provided above the bell mouth with a chute for the continuous discharge of rolled tea-leaves. Two or more consecutive and identical rolling units may be provided with a conveyor in between, the receiving part of the conveyor being located under the table container and under the discharge chute of one rolling unit whereas the unloading portion of the conveyor is brought to a loading or filling tray of the cylinder in the following rolling unit. A suitable rolling unit is shown in Fig. 1 and comprises a table 1 with container 2, bottomless cylinder 8 and crankshafts 5, 6, and 7. Installed in the cylinder 8, is a tubular discharger 13 provided in its lower part with a bell mouth 21 and in its upper part with a part 19 and discharge chute 20. The height of the discharger may be adjusted by means of nuts 17 and 18 on thread 16.
