Abstract

1311151 Feeding sheets MeCAIN MFG CORP 23 April 1970 19640/70 Heading B8R A signature SG, Fig. 4, folded into sheets 11, 12, is withdrawn from a stop 10 by a conventional gripper CG on a disc 15 engaging the sheet 12, which is then held against an anvil 20 by a suction cup 45, Figs. 1 and 4, and by a gripper 21 closed by suction applied to a cylinder 37 and acting against a spring 40 to move a rack 35 engaging a pinion 32 on a shaft 23 carrying the gripper 21. Similar members on an oppositely rotating disc 16 then engage the sheet 11, whereupon the signature is opened and, when the suction is released, dropped on to a saddle SD.
