Abstract

1310667 Rotary folders TIMSONS Ltd 8 March 1972 [16 March 1971] 7351/71 Heading B8R In a rotary folder of the kind in which a blade 1 mounted in a holder 4 rotatable about an axis a provided on a rotatable carrier 5 tucks sheets, signatures or collections thereof between the nip of fold rollers 2, 3 at regularly spaced intervals, toothed pulleys 17, 18 or sprockets are rigidly secured respectively to fixed coaxial shafts 11 about which the carrier is rotatable, and to the holder 4 and toothed endless driving members, e.g. resilient belts 19 or chains, are passed around said pulleys or sprockets. Thus when the carrier is rotated about shafts 11, e.g. by driven toothed belts 16 engaging toothed pulleys 10 fixed to the carrier 5, the blade holder 4 is rotated aboutits own axis a. The carrier may comprise two spaced arms 6 carrying a balance weight 7 at one of their ends and the holder at their other ends.
