Abstract

1309503 Anti-skid studs METALLWERK PLANSEE AG & CO KG 22 July 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 34337/71 Addition to 1218030 Heading B7C [Also in Division C7] A non-skid stud, or a part thereof, consists of an alloy containing 43-89% by weight titanium carbide, 1-45% by weight of molybdenum carbide and/or vanadium carbide, 10-22% by weight of one or more of iron, nickel and cobalt and optionally up to 3% by weight of chromium, the grain size of the carbide particles in the product being under 5 microns and at least 90% by volume thereof under 3 microns, the sintered structure retaining the serrated edges and typical particle shapes of the finest carbide particles as nulled. Up to 25% by weight of the carbides may be replaced by tungsten carbide.
