Abstract

1309183 Oneway clutch W. SCHAEFFLER and G SCHAEFFLER [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER OHG] 19 April 1971 [10 March 1970] 20664/71 Heading F2C In a oneway jamming roller clutch comprising caged rollers 3 between cylindrical races 1, 2 and provided with individual biasing springs springs 6 and ramp members 5, the springs are formed of a material other or otherwise treated than that of the ramps, and either the ramps or the springs are formed integral with the cage bars. As shown, the ramps 5 are integrel with the cage bars 4, and the springs 6 are separate members. Again, Fig. 2 (not shown), the springs are Z-shaped. Also, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the rollers have reduced diameter centre or end portions on which the ramps act, the layer diameter portions acting as bearings. Again, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), a small diameter central roller coacts with the ramp surfaces whilst larger diameter end rollers act as bearings. In Fig. 8 (not shown), the cage (23) is formed of resilient material with integral springs (24), the ramps (25) being separate members.
