Abstract

1308871 Oxirane derivatives AGFA GEVAERT AG 21 July 1971 [25 July 1970] 34180/71 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and G2] Seventeen compounds falling within the general formula are described, wherein X 1 is a methylene, ethylene, 1 : 3-butylene or -CH 2 CH(C 2 H 5 )CH(C 3 H 7 )- radical and X 2 is a hexamethylene, toluylene, triisopropylphenylene, diphenylyl methane, diphenylyldimethylmethane, xylylene, or a divalent isophorone radical. The compounds are made by reacting glycidol or a glycidol ether of the type glycidyl-O-X 1 -OH with a diisocyanate of the formula Thus diphenylmethane-4 : 4-diisocyanate, tolylene - 2 : 4 - diisocyanate, isophorone diisocyanate and hexamethylene diisocyanate are each reacted with glycidol, and tolylene diisocyanate is reacted with ethylene glycol monoglycidyl ether.
