Abstract

1308169 Fuel supply control systems COLT INDUSTRIES OPERATING CORP 22 Dec 1970 60852/70 Heading G1N [Also in Division F1] In an I. C. engine fuel metering control system, fuel is pumped by a pump 126 to a pressure regulator 128 from which it is supplied to a metering device 130 the control element 182 of which is controlled electrically by engine operating parameters. The metered fuel is then discharged into the induction manifold 22 by a device 204, Fig. 2 (not shown). As shown, voltages V1, V2, V3 and V4 representing respectively engine speed, ambient temperature, induction pressure, and engine temperature are applied to resistors R1, R2, R3 and R4, the resulting currents being summed at an operational amplifier 102 whose output is applied to a winding 186 surrounding the element 182. When the engine is switched off i.e. switch 218 is open, a solenoid 132 is de-energized so that fuel can be returned to the tank 120 via a pressure regulator 134. The components 126, 128, 130, 132 and 134 are mounted in the fuel tank 120.
