Abstract
1307712 Spray head with fluid oscillator BOWLES FLUIDICS CORP 3 April 1970 15912/70 Heading B2F A fluid discharge nozzle useful as a shower head embodies a fluid oscillator and has two selectable output modes in one of which is delivered a pulsating flow from the oscillator and in the other of which is delivered a fluid spray from fluid which may come from or by-pass the oscillator. In Figs. 3 and 4, the pulsating output exits from region 29 through holes 24 in a selector 22 which is operable to divert the output to holes 28. The selector may be slidable as shown or rotatable, optionally on a screw thread, whereby the output volume from holes 28 is varied (Figs. 5-9, not shown). Alternatively, output from holes 28 may by-pass the oscillator, e.g. by use of a valve at the oscillator input, or by having the oscillator body slidable within the body 12 (Figs. 11 and 12, not shown). Baffles may be provided at region 4 to smooth the pulsating flow. The oscillator passages may be rectangular as shown, or may be radially symmetrical about the longitudinal axis.
