1307698 Drop-down oven doors W H G THOMPSON 14 Sept 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 43800/70 Heading F4W [Also in Division E2] A drop down oven door 13 is hinged to horizontal bars 15 sliding vertically in the frame of the cooker. Slotted stays 17 engage pins 19 on vertical members 20 carried by the bars 15, and are connected to the rear end of bars 15 by springs 21. An upright 24 has a notch 23 engaging a pin 22 on the stay 17 so that, in the closed position, the door is held at its lowest level until released by slightly opening it. Lugs 26 with rubber buffers 27 are arranged in the door frame to hold the door in a horizontal position corresponding to each shelf position by engaging the pins 22. The arrangement is counterbalanced by springs 25 at the top of the door frame, and the door may be removed from the pivots for cleaning.
