Abstract

1306715 Electromagnets ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 17 April 1970 [18 April 1969] 18353/70 Heading H1P [Also in Division F1] A solenoid valve (Fig. 1) comprises a prestressed spring 11 acting on armature 12 to hold closed a member 13 whose conical tip engages a seating 14; fuel for injection to an engine entering the valve at 15. Winding 16 is centre tapped to positive source Ub and its outer ends are connected to collectors of npn power transistors T 10 T 11 whose emitters are returned to earth lead 25. Bases are returned to 25 over parallel RC circuits C 10 R 10 , C 11 R 11 and also connected over series resistors and diodes D 10 R 12 and D 11 R 13 to the collector of central transistor T 12 and common load 26, while series resistors and capacitors C 12 R 14 , C 13 R 15 connect the diode resistor junctions to the collectors of transistors T 11 , T 10 respectively. The emitter of T 12 is earthed and its base connected to central voltage input U st . The circuit operates as a stable multivibrator oscillating on application of a central pulse U st (Figs. 3, 4) to energize alternately the halves of the solenoid winding so as to excite the magnetic circuit in opposite senses for the duration of the pulse. (Fig. 2, not shown), whereby the solenoid valve is demagnetized before or after each energization.
