Abstract
1306194 Reverberation devices; local circuits AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO-GERATE GmbH 17 May 1971 [19 May 1970] 15220/71 Headings H4J and H4R An artificial reverberation device includes two coils electrically interconnected via an amplifier and mechanically coupled to form a unit in which the coils are mounted side by side with their axes at right angles, the unit being mounted within and connected to a helical spring so that axes of the coils are at right angles to the axis of the spring and the coils are disposed in a magnetic field. The arrangement provides electromechanical damping for torsional oscillations transmitted by the spring the degree of damping being controlled by the gain of the amplifier. In the embodiment shown such a damping arrangement is used in both the input and output systems E and A respectively of the reverberation spring 1 the input and output signals being applied to and taken from the corresponding amplifiers 7 and 7<SP>1</SP>. The coils such as 3 and 4 of a unit may be rigidly interconnected or coupled by a resilient metal strip which attenuates lower frequencies.
