Abstract
1,209,360. Reverberation devices; transducers. AKUSTISCHE u. KINO. GERATE G.m.b.H. 4 Dec., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 57483/68. Headings H4J and H4R. A reverberation system includes two helical spring delay members which are of different length and transit time properties with an input and output transducer associated with each spring. The frequency of the signal applied to the system is divided so that both springs are subjected only to torsional vibration. The frequency range is preferably equally divided and this may be accomplished mechanically and/or electrically. In the wholly mechanical system shown, spring 1 has a longer transit time, e.g. 120 ms., and spring 2 a shorter time, e.g. 60 ms., and the springs are connected at each end to rotary magnets 3, 4 of input and output transducers of the dynamic type. The magnets 3, 4 are connected to a fixed part of the system by wire elements 5 which are axially stiff but torsionally soft for the longer spring and wires 7 which are stiff axially and torsionally for the shorter spring. If electrical frequency division is used a low-pass filter is connected in the circuit of one or both of the transducers for the longer spring and a high pass filter in the circuit associated with the shorter spring, Fig. 2 (not shown). Preferably the high pass filter is replaced by a band pass filter and the transducer magnets are embedded in foam.
