Abstract
1305717 Clips ITW Ltd 13 July 1970 [14 July 1969] 35391/69 Heading E2B A clip for releasably gripping a rod at a position along the length thereof and then being mountable in a aperture 40 in a member or plate 42, is formed of plastics material, e.g. nylon, and comprises two legs 10, 12 which can be flexed about an intermediate hinge portion 14 to abut one another and can then be inserted into the aperture, at least one of the legs having a cavity 16 in that of the surface thereof which abuts the other leg. The cavity has part of a screwthread 20 over the surface 18 thereof to prevent axial movement of a co-operating portion of a rod, the outer faces of the legs being shaped to co-operate with the aperture. As shown, both legs are formed with semicylindrical cavities and are entered into the bore of a bushing 34 provided with recesses 44 for reception of the edges of the aperture 40; axial slots 46 in the bushing permit the latter to be flexed for insertion into the aperture. One of the cavities may have projections instead of a screw-thread, and the bushing may be rectangular to fit into an aperture of corresponding shape.
