Abstract

1305537 Benzodiazepines A H ROBINS CO Inc 23 Nov 1971 [24 Nov 1970] 54389/71 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R = H, F, Cl, Br, NO 2 , CF 3 ; R<SP>1</SP>'<SP>2</SP> = H, F, Cl, Br) and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting the corresponding 1-unsubstituted compound with a benzoylpropyl halide or 2- , phenyl - 2 - (3 - halopropyl) - 1,3 - dioxolane, followed in the latter case by regeneration of the keto group and optionally followed in either case by salt formation. The above compounds are anticonvulsants, tranquillizers and sedatives, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
