Abstract

1304853 Sawing BEVES & CO Ltd 27 April 1970 [30 April 1969] 22067/69 Addition to 1124586 Heading B5L The saw unit of the parent Specification is modified so that the common support mounts a plurality of rotary saw blades at least one of which is angularly adjustable about a substantially vertical rotational axis. As described, the common support is a column 6 mounted for vertical sliding movement in a coupling in the form of a guide 7 under the control of a fluid operated double-acting ram. At its lower end the column 6 carries a pair of saw blades 1, 2 having drive motors 4, 5 and mounted on supports 20, 21 respectively. The supports are carried by plates 18, 19 which are rotatably mounted in such a manner on the column 6 that the blades 1, 2 are rotatable about the axis 3 of the column. The plates 18, 19 are lockable in a selected relative angular position by a clamping bolt 29, and are lockable in a selected angular position relative to the column 6 by a clamping bolt 30.
