1303995 Milling cutters WICKMAN WIMET Ltd 8 May 1970 [29 May 1969] 27149/69 Heading B3K The body 10 of a milling cutter has a central recess at one end, defining an annular end portion 11 in which a plurality of generally radial slots 12 are formed (only one shown), each slot embracing a tip retaining wedge 18 whose radially inner end 18a has a lateral extension accommodating a grub screw 19 which abuts the inner periphery of end portion 11 to draw wedge 18 inwards to clamp tip 17. The tip 17, which is square, but could be triangular or rhomboidal, seats against a shoe 15 in an elongate recess 13; the shoe is secured in the recess by a wedge piece (14) (Fig. 2, not shown).
