Abstract
1303203 Reverberation systems AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO-GERATE GmbH 14 Aug 1970 [18 Aug 1969] 39260/70 Heading H4R A system for producing artificial reverberations comprises a helical spring 4 reflectively terminated at both ends and having an input transducer 1 for producing torsional vibrations in the spring. At least one output transducer is spaced a distance corresponding to a transit time of not more than 50 ms. from the input transducer and the spring length corresponds to a transit time of at least 200 ms. The spring surface is irregularly formed, e.g. by etching, over the length not between the input and output transducers, and may have individual spring turns deformed to reduce periodicity. In the arrangement shown a second output transducer is positioned between the input and output transducers where distance T 12 corresponds to 30 ms. In a modification, Fig. 1b (not shown), the input transducer is spaced from one end of the spring and the single output transducer spaced from it so that the vibrations are reflected to it from the end in 50 ms. as well as being sent direct in 30 ms.
