Abstract

1302911 Drafting apparatus NIPPON SEIKO KK 13 Jan 1970 [30 June 1969 (2)] 1632/ 70 Heading DID In a drafting mechanism having twin top rollers 1 carried by an arm 2 pivoted or universally jointed to a support 4 carried by the main arm 6 a spring 8, the lateral movement of which is restricted by the walls of support 4, is provided between support 4 and arm 2 to weight the rollers and the arm 2 is laterally adjustable relative to the lower end of the spring to ensure that the twin rollers are parallel with the co-operating lower roller. To this end a member 9a is rotatably mounted in arm 2 and provided with a head 9b eccentric with respect to member 9a. A cap 8a sits on head 9b and is fixed to the lower end of spring 8. Thus when member 9a is turned by a driver, member 9a and the lower end of spring 8 are laterally displaced. In other forms the eccentric head is formed with a concave portion and engaged by a convex cap on the spring; alternatively a ball bearing is placed between the head and the cap.
