1302669 Diaphragm pumps A PIERBURG AUTOGERATEBAU KG 9 Aug 1971 [3 May 1971] 37370/71 Heading F1A In a diaphragm fuel pump comprising a diaphragm 3 in a housing separated by walls 10 and 18 into a pumping chamber 6, a delivery chamber 9 and a suction chamber 22, the walls 10, 18 are joined at the suction valve opening 20 by a ring 21, e.g. of metal, which is longitudinally deformable both elastically and plastically, and sealingly secured by welding, brazing or adhesive bonding. The suction valve comprises a flexible metal tongue 16 co-operating with a support 15. A removable suction chamber cover 23 has a seal 25 and is secured by a screw 26 engaging a plate 28 supported by arms 29, 30 or a perforated cap, a spacer 35 being provided. Wall 18 is able to flex to absorb pressure peaks in the delivery chamber. Inlet 32 has a filter 33.
