1302094 Fire-retardant foam material TOYO RUBBER CHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL CORP 20 March 1970 [25 March 1969 27 March 1969 28 March 1969] 13547/70 Heading C3R [Also in Division B2] A fire-retardant foam material comprises a foamed polymeric body containing at least one flame-suppressing agent selected from (a) ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, urea and potassium chloride and (b) compounds which release water, other than water of crystallization at a temperature greater than 100‹ C. Compounds falling within category (b) are bismuth hydroxide, cobaltous or cobaltic hydroxide or boric acid. The flame-suppressing agent is dispersed throughout the polymer or may be coated on a surface thereof. Preferred foams are those of polyurethane.
