Abstract
1300634 Blasting; tamping boreholes and neutralizing dust and harmful gases CHEMISCHE FABRIK KALK GmbH 28 May 1970 [3 July 1969] 25746/70 Heading F3A [Also in Division E1] Finely divided solid calcium chloride and/or finely divided solid magnesium chloride is used for tamping an explosives-charged shot hole in a mine before firing of the charge in order to suppress dust and harmful gases created by the fired charge. The chloride, preferably in a cartridge form comprising a chloride-filled, closed plastics tube, has a grain size distribution such that the proportions of grains with a diameter of less than 1 mm. is more than 80% by weight and with a diameter of less than 0À3 mm. more than 60% by weight. The chloride may have a water content of from 0 to 55% by weight, and may have as additives alkaline reaction compounds, oxidizing agents, sodium chloride and wetting agents.
