1299540 Dehydrogenation; hydrodealkylation INSTITUT NEFTEKHIMICHESKOGO SINTEZA IMENI A V TOPCHIEVA AN SSSR and UNNERSITET DRUZHBY NARODOV IMENI P LUMUMBY 1 April 1970 15401/70 Heading C5E [Also in Division C7] The catalyst used in a process for dehydrogenating, dehydrocyclizing or hydrodealkylating compounds, especially hydrocarbons containing 2-20 C. atoms is an alloy of palladium with at least one of rhenium, tungsten and ruthenium (see Division C6-7). Examples are given of dehydrogenating 2-methylbut-1-ene to isoprene, cyclohexane to benzene, dehydrocyclization of heptane and octane and hydrodealkylation toluene and 1,6-dimethylnaphthalene.
