1299284 Epicyclic gearing BAYERISCHE BERG-HUTTEN-UND SALZWERKE AG 16 July 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 34487/70 Heading F2Q Epicyclic gearing, e.g. for driving contrarotating ships' propeller shafts 3, 4, comprises two three-element epicyclic trains 5, 6 the sunwheels 10 and 18 of which are drivingly connected via a sleeve 8 to an engine driven flange 1 which thus jointly drives planetary pinions 23 on a carrier fast with the propeller shaft 3, the planetary pinions meshing a fixed ring gear 19, 20, 21, and oppositely drives through countershaft idler pinions 11, on spindles 12 fixed in a housing 2, to a ring gear 13, 14, 15 connected via a sleeve 16 to the coaxial propeller shaft 4, the fixed ring gear 19, 20, 21 of the planetary gear set 5 being secured fast via a sleeve 22 and fixed spindles 12 to the housing 2.
