Abstract

1298161 Laminates METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG 18 Dec 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 60334/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A method of coating a textile material comprises heating a film or sheet having a thickness of 0À5 to 10 mm. and comprising a composition of 10 to 20 parts by weight of a butadiene-styrene block copolymer, 1 to 10 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, 10 to 20 parts by weight of an extender oil, 65 to 80 parts by weight of a filler and 0À01 to 0À2 parts by weight of an antioxidant, to soften it and combining it with the textile material under pressure. The method may be effected by heating the film or sheet optionally provided with a backing, e.g. a woven fabric or a non-woven fabric in an infrared heating zone and combining the heated film or sheet with the textile material in the nip of a pair of rollers. The textile material is preferably a carpet, e.g. a tufted carpet or a needle felt and may consist of natural or synthetic fibres.
