1297768 Stabilizing conjugated dienes JAPAN SYNTHETIC RUBBER CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [9 July 1970 5 Oct 1970] 3649/72 Divided out of 1295794 Heading C5E Solutions of conjugated dienes are stabilized against polymerization by addition of anthracone, preferably in amount 0À01-10% by wt. Other polymerization inhibitors or antioxidants such as NaNO 2 , KNO 2 , Na 2 S phenolic compounds or aromatic amines may also be present. Stabilization is particularly necessary at elevated temperature such as during extraction or extractive distillation with acetonitrile, N- methylpyrrolidone, dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide or furfural. The solvent may contain water. Examples describe the stabilization of butadiene-1,3, isoprene and hydrocarbon fractions containing them.
