1297649 Condensing combed sliver OSAKA KIKO KK and CHUWA WOOL INDUSTRY Co Ltd 1 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968 26 Dec 1968] 58534/69 Headings D1F and DIN A combed web 18 is condensed to a uniform sliver by turning the web through an angle which becomes progressively more acute from one side of the web to the other so that the leading ends of the fibres in the combed tufts are relatively displaced and uniformly distributed in the sliver, the leading end of a leading fibre in a tuft being displaced by a distance which equals the difference between the lengths of the edges of the web between delivery rollers 21 and the nip of the condenser 23, 24. The rollers 15 may rotate alternately in opposite directions and feed the combed web onto a conveyor belt.
